About - Hemophilia Center

WHAT IS THE HEMOPHILIA TREATMENT CENTER OF LAS VEGAS (HTCLV)?

The Hemophilia Treatment Center of Las Vegas is Nevada's only federally recognized Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC).

HTCLV is part of a regional network of over 130 HTCs in the nation.  HTCs in this network abide by federal guidelines for the delivery of comprehensive hemophilia services as developed by the Maternal Child Health Bureau (MCHB), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF).

These HTCs receive federal funding to support the multidisciplinary specialty team.  They are subjected to site visits and audits to ensure adherence to federal standards.

HTCLV provides family-centered, state of the art medical and psychosocial services, education and research to persons with inherited bleeding disorders.

HTCLV TEAM

HTCLV's team members have all received advanced training in the treatment of patients with bleeding disorders.

The HTCLV provides care to people of all ages and is available 24 hours/day for emergency consultations. The HTCLV provides services statewide via periodic satellite clinics in northern and central Nevada.

WHY SHOULD I USE THE HTCLV?

Studies show that people with hemophilia who are treated at federally recognized HTCs have lower overall healthcare costs, lower hospitalization rates, less time lost from work or school, and lower mortality than non-HTC users.

Therefore, the National Hemophilia Foundation, MCHB, and CDC recommend an annual comprehensive visit to these HTCs.
